Steel Building
Colours & Finishes
Choose the colours and finishes that bring your steel building together — from roof and wall cladding to doors, flashings and trims.
DESIGN & APPEARANCE
The Finishing Touches Make the Building
Colour and finish can completely change the character of a steel building — helping it blend into its surroundings, complement an existing property or create a distinctive commercial appearance.
Roof and wall cladding can be specified in a range of colours, with coordinating options available for doors, flashings, trims and other finishing details.
The available colours and finishes can vary depending on the cladding system and specification selected for your building.

COLOUR OPTIONS
Choose a Finish to Suit Your Building
Our most popular steel building colours are shown above, with a range of common stock finishes available for roof and wall cladding.
Looking for something specific? Tell us the colour or RAL reference you’re trying to achieve and we’ll do our best to match it or suggest the closest available finish.
Colour availability can vary depending on the cladding profile, coating and panel specification selected.
Where an exact colour is important, we recommend confirming the final finish against a physical sample.
COLOUR COMBINATIONS
Mix, Match or Keep It Simple

COORDINATED
One Consistent Finish
Use complementary roof, wall and trim colours for a clean, understated appearance.

CONTRAST
Make the Details Stand Out
Contrast doors, flashings or trims against the main cladding colour to give the building more definition.

COMPLEMENTARY
Work With the Surroundings
Choose colours that complement nearby buildings, existing materials or the wider setting.
Not sure what works together? We can help you choose a practical combination from the finishes available for your building specification.

FINISHING DETAILS
Coordinate Doors, Flashings & Trims
The main cladding colour is only part of the finished appearance. Doors, flashings and trims can be coordinated with the roof and wall cladding or deliberately contrasted to give the building more definition.
ROLLER SHUTTER DOORS
Choose a complementary or contrasting finish to suit the surrounding cladding and overall appearance of the building.
PERSONAL ACCESS DOORS
Pedestrian doors can be powder coated in a selected RAL colour, allowing them to coordinate with—or stand out from—the main building.
FLASHINGS
& TRIMS
Corner, verge, eaves and other flashings provide the finishing details around the cladding and can be selected to create a coordinated overall appearance.
Available finishes vary between individual components and cladding systems, so an exact shade match between different materials or coatings cannot always be guaranteed.
CHOOSING A FINISH
What Should You Consider?
The right colour isn’t only about personal preference. The building’s surroundings, intended use and the materials around it can all influence what works best.
SURROUNDINGS
Blend In or Stand Out
Rural and residential settings may suit more understated finishes, while commercial and industrial buildings can often accommodate stronger contrasts or more distinctive colour combinations.
EXISTING BUILDINGS
Complement What’s Already There
Where a new steel building sits alongside an existing property, matching or complementing its colours can help the buildings feel part of the same site.
LONG-TERM APPEARANCE
Think Beyond Day One
Consider how the complete building will look—not just the wall cladding. Roofs, doors, flashings, trims and other details all contribute to the finished appearance.

FINAL SPECIFICATION
Confirm the Colour Before Manufacture
Colour availability can vary depending on the cladding system, panel specification and individual components selected for your building.
Once the building specification is established, the available finishes can be confirmed so that roof and wall cladding, doors, flashings and trims can be coordinated before manufacture.
Where colour matching is particularly important, we recommend confirming the selected finish against a physical colour sample before manufacture.
